Savenergy Pte Ltd
Savenergy Pte Ltd supplies an absorbent polymer called Imbiber Beads.
Imbiber Beads are polymer granules that are engineered to absorb and contain a wide range of organic chemicals ranging from transportation fuels, aromatics, solvents and other Hazardous & Noxious Substances.
Imbiber Beads is the only known material worldwide that meets the strict definition of a true absorbent for a number of international standards organizations including the American Society of Testing & Materials (ASTM) and British Standards Institute.
Imbiber Beads have an extremely high absorption capacity, absorbing up to 27 times its own volume in organic chemicals. Once absorbed, the organic chemicals are held in the molecular structure of the Beads and cannot leach out , even when squeezed or cut into pieces. Imbiber Beads are completely hydrophobic and are ideally suited for mitigating and cleanup of spills of organic contaminants at sea and inland waterways.
After extensive testing over 4 years by the Japanese Maritime Disaster Prevention Centre in Yokohama , the Japanese Maritime Authorities chose Imbiber Beads as Japan's frontline spill mitigation technology. The logistics to locate inventories of Imbiber Beads at 10 Japanese ports is currently being implemented, and is expected to be completed by April 2007.
Demonstrations of the efficacy of Imbiber Beads for mitigation and clean up of spills will be exhibited at Spillcon 2007.
