The
Conference is being hosted by Australia’s most
awarded venue, the Brisbane Convention &
Exhibition Centre at South Bank.
Superbly located in the city’s cultural and entertainment
precinct at South Bank, the Centre provides delegates
with a unique meeting experience incorporating a relaxed
resort style atmosphere with a smart business environment.
The convention precinct is an easy 15-minute riverside
stroll to the city’s central attractions including
leading international hotels, sophisticated dining and
cosmopolitan nightlife.
Brisbane weather is temperate all year round, with August
providing mostly sunny days with little or no rain and
moderate winds. Daily temperatures range from 10 to
22 degrees, with the average a very pleasant 19 degrees
centigrade.
Brisbane and its world famous surroundings is ideally
situated for the planned pre and post conference tours
and partners programs.
Registration and Information Desk
The Spillcon 2004 Registration and Information Desk will be located in the Foyer area on the Mezzanine Level and will operate during the hours listed below:
Monday 23 August 3.30pm - 5.00pm
Tuesday 24 August 7.30am - 5.30pm
Wednesday 25 August 7.30am - 5.00pm
Thursday 26 August 7.30am - 2.30pm
Friday 27 August 7.30am - 10.30am
All delegates, accompanying persons, speakers and exhibitors will receive a name badge on registration. This badge is your official pass and must be worn to obtain entry to all conference sessions, meals, social events and accompanying persons tours.
All registration materials, including name badges, Conference Dinner tickets and Conference handbook should be collected from the Registration Desk on the first day of your arrival.
Business Centre
The Brisbane Convention Centre offers 2 fully equipped
Business Centres for all of your business needs. One
Centre is located on the Concourse, the other is located
at the Information Desk in the main foyer.
Parking
The Centre has under-cover parking for 1600 cars at
a flat rate of $7.00 per day. Early Bird Parking is
available at $5.50 per day if you are in prior to 9.00am
and out prior to 6.00pm.
All areas of the Centre are directly accessible from
the car park by internal elevators and stairs.
Public Transport
A comprehensive network of buses, ferries and trains
link South Bank with Brisbane city and suburbs. Travel
passes are available. A Day Rover ticket offers one
day unlimited travel on Brisbane City Council bus and
ferry services. The South East Explorer ticket provides
unlimited travel on bus, ferry and Citytrain services.

Smoking
The Brisbane Convention Centre is a smoke free zone,
as are all restaurants.
Special Needs
The Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre has lift
access to all public areas. Access from the main entry
is via lifts located adjacent to the main stairs on
the left or Northern side. Other lifts operate between
pavement level on Merivale Street and the main concourse
on Exhibition level. Two lifts are located between the
Great Hall and Exhibition Hall 1, and another between
Halls 2 and 3.
The BCEC has 21 “accessible” toilets and
they are clearly signed and located through all foyers,
concourse and exhibition halls. For further information
