Divisional Manager, National Oil Spill

John
is a Foreign Going Master who, on coming ashore, spent a number
of years in the port industry in marine operations, as well
as marketing and stevedoring.
His first shore based oil spill response involved equipment
deployment at a refinery port in the late 70's.
In recent years he was an On Scene Commander
for oil spills in Northland, New Zealand before becoming an
employee of the Maritime Safety Authority in 1999.
His present position is that of Divisional
Manager, Marine Pollution Response Services, a division within
the MSA, and he is also the National On Scene Commander.
