Regional On-Scene Commander for the Gisborne District. A man
of many hats, Peter is involved in managing a variety of environmental
and public health functions on the East Coast of New Zealand's
North Island.
Peter has been involved in marine oil spill
activities for a decade or so, managing his territorial authority's
pollution responsibilities.
His background is in environmental health,
waste management, hazardous substances, management and performance.
His self-confessed practical maritime experience constitutes
surfing, Hoby cats and the Cook Straight ferry. Previously
Peter has worked in England, the Hutt Valley and Gisborne.
Having just completed a risk assessment of a significant oil
spill as being 1 in 50 years, along came Jody.
